Denver weather: Mild conditions Monday starts dry Thanksgiving week, but snow is coming

Thanksgiving week starts off dry, calm and seasonal after cooler temperatures and some rain fell around metro Denver over the weekend; but still no snow.

Denver residents can expect sunny skies, with a high near 57, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Light and variable winds become north between 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.

Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 30. West wind 6 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.

Denver’s latest first snow could happen, finally, on Friday night, marking the second latest first snow record on the books.

The latest model runs show light snow developing around metro Denver late Friday night through Saturday morning, where a trace-1 inch cold fall at the airport and within the city.

The lead up forecast to Friday, however, will stay calm and dry, with temperatures in the upper 40s on Tuesday and back to the 50s the rest of the week.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 46. East wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Light and variable wind.

Thanksgiving: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.
