Fentanyl, cocaine recovered during drug bust in La Junta

Authorities seized hundreds of grams in cocaine and fentanyl during a drug bust in La Junta, according to an announcement Tuesday from officials.

In collaboration with La Junta police, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation confiscated about 110 grams of cocaine and 273 grams of fentanyl (roughly 2,730 pills), the CBI said in a news release.

Authorities found the drugs Nov. 19 in the 600 block of Santa Fe Avenue in La Junta.

Elijah Archuleta, 23, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, the Bureau of Investigation said.

According to the CBI, he was convicted in the town of Rocky Ford for aggravated car theft in 2023 and assault menacing with a weapon earlier this year.
