1 dead, 1 hospitalized after Westminster residential fire

One person died and another was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a residential fire near Sheridan Boulevard in Westminster.

Additionally, three Westminster Police Department officers were evaluated on-scene for smoke inhalation, according to a WPD social media post Wednesday evening.

The fire began just before 4 p.m. at a residence near the intersection of 80th Avenue and Wolff Street in Westminster, officials said. It displaced families from two units before crews were able to get it under control.

Two people were hospitalized and one of them died from their injuries, officials said. They will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office pending an autopsy and notification of family.

The cause remains under investigation.
