A new beer garden is coming to a major development project within Denver’s River North Arts District next year, according to a press release.
Hopscotch Beer Garden will open late winter in 2026 as a central gathering place for Denargo Market, featuring a rotation of food trucks and a menu with draft beer, wine, kombucha and canned cocktails.
Denargo Market is a massive new development project to transform 17 acres of land into a riverfront district with 3 million square feet for housing, offices, a hotel and retail — making it one of Denver’s largest infill projects. It began construction nearly two years ago and is led by a joint venture between Formativ and Chicago-based Golub & Co.
This year, the first four acres featuring a riverfront park and a public plaza opened to the public. The developers also debuted Rhingo, the 30-foot-tall climbable sculpture of a rhinoceros.

“The opening of Hopscotch is a milestone for not only the Denargo Market development, but the surrounding neighborhood,” said Laura Newman, vice president of investment and development at Golub & Co, in a press release.
Newman said there’s 3,000 residential units around the incoming beer garden currently, with little to no retail or dining concepts within walking distance.
“Hopscotch will be one of the first food and beverage concepts to service what’s currently an amenity desert — and in time, we hope it will become the heartbeat of an energetic community,” she said.
Hopscotch Beer Garden will be operated by local events company DrinkDenver.
The development area was once home to Denver’s largest food market in the 20th century, hosting more than 500 stands, according to Denargo Market’s website. In 1971, a fire destroyed it and the site became mostly empty or used for industrial purposes.
The first building will be a 16-story apartment building with 380 units on the corner of Denargo and Delgany Streets. The development’s website said the apartments will feature protected mountain views to the west and city views to the south. Plans also call for a pool, a rooftop lounge and 4,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor.
The district — set to be built out over the next decade — plans to create about 1,000 units of housing.

The beer garden will be outdoors, though it will offer seating within a reinforced heated tent during colder months. Leashed dogs will be allowed in the space.
The operators will also organize community events such as watch parties, bike-in movie nights, fitness on the lawn, trivia and weeknight happy hours.
“Our hope is to become the go-to neighborhood spot, where everyone is welcome, that fosters connectivity and energy for Denargo Market and, more broadly, Denver,” said Alison Nestel-Patt, director of development and user experience at Formativ.
