2 found dead in 2-alarm fire in Westminster
Two people are dead Tuesday after a two-alarm fire at a home in Westminster.
The Westminster Fire Department said multiple 911 calls came in shortly after midnight reporting the fire at a “residential structure” at 72nd Drive and Marshall Court.
When firefighters arrived in the neighborhood, which appears to be dotted with single-family homes, they found “heavy fire coming from the house,” according to a post on the department’s X account.
Two people were found dead inside the home, firefighters said.
A third person inside the home was taken to a local hospital, but their condition was not immediately known.
“Due to the size and intensity of the fire, a second alarm was requested to bring in additional resources,” Westminster Fire said in a post on its X account.
Adams County Fire and North Metro Fire assisted in battling the blaze, officials said.
Westminster Fire said the Fire Marshal’s Office in investigating. It was not immediately clear what started the fire.
The victims’ identities and cause of death were not immediately released.
