Denver weather: Sunny and mild on Friday, warm weekend ahead
It’s another typical January day in Denver on Friday, weather forecasters said, ahead of a warm, sunny weekend.
The National Weather Service in Boulder said to expect temperatures to reach 47 degrees in Denver on Friday under mostly sunny skies. That’s about 3 degrees warmer than the average for this date, Jan. 30, according to weather service data.
Tonight, expect temperatures to dip to about 19 degrees overnight, meteorologists said.
The weather service said a few snow showers were expected in the Colorado mountains on Friday and Saturday, but it wasn’t expected to amount to much accumulation.
Areas along the continental divide were expected to see minor to moderate impacts from the snowfall over the next two days, according to the weather service.
Out on Colorado’s northeast plains, meteorologists said some light snow could fall by late Friday, riding in behind a cold front that will drop temperatures briefly across the area as far west as the Interstate 25 corridor.
The weekend is shaping up quite nice in Denver, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 55 on Saturday to close out January and 60 degrees on Sunday to open the month of February, meteorologists said.
