Sage Hospitality taps new leadership
One of the most well-known Denver hospitality developers and operating company has chosen new leadership.
Sage Hospitality Group, which has overseen high-profile developments like The Crawford at Union Station, named Daniel del Olmo as its new president and chief operating officer. He’s just the third CEO in the 42-year-old company’s history.

But for those who immediately think of Walter Isenberg when mentioning Sage, as he’s been the face of the company for more than four decades, no worries — he’s not going anywhere.
Isenberg has been named the executive chairman of the board.
“Daniel has earned this role,” said Isenberg in a news release. “Over the past six years, he has demonstrated the leadership discipline, financial rigor and cultural alignment necessary to guide Sage into its next chapter. He understands who we are, what we stand for and how we create value for our partners. I have complete confidence in his leadership.”
Del Olmo has been with Sage since early 2020 and has served as co-CEO with Isenberg “with a clear path toward executive leadership.”
Sage operates more than 140 hotels nationwide, as well as restaurants and entertainment venues. It has more than 7,000 employees.
“It is an honor to lead Sage into its next chapter,” del Olmo said in the release. “What makes this company exceptional is not only what we build, but the people who bring those experiences to life every day. Our associates are the heart of Sage. Their creativity, discipline and dedication to excellence are what differentiate us.”
Isenberg was an instrumental part of the Union Station redevelopment team more than 10 years ago. It owns or operates Denver’s Dairy Block, The Maven Hotel there, Poka Lola Social Club, Kachina Cantina, McGregor Square and the Rally Hotel at McGregor, among others.
“I’m not stepping away from Sage,” Isenberg said. “This company has been my life’s work, and I’m excited to continue contributing in a way that allows Daniel and our leadership team to lead the day-to-day while I focus on growth, relationships and the parts of the business I’m most passionate about.”
Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board Zack Neumeyer assumes the role of chairman emeritus and vice chairman of the Board, “remaining actively engaged in long-term strategy, capital formation and board leadership,” according to the release.
“Sage was built to endure beyond any one individual, and this moment reflects the strength of our culture, our strategy and our leadership bench,” Neumeyer said in the release. “As co-founders Walter and I built Sage on the belief that hospitality can enrich lives and that foundation remains firmly in place as we enter this next chapter.”
