Thornton police investigating triple homicide of family; suspect died by suicide

Thornton police are investigating after four people were found dead inside a home in what police are describing as a triple homicide.

Thornton Police Department officers were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Friday to the 13900 block of Harrison Street after a family member reported that there may be multiple unresponsive individuals inside the home. Upon arrival, police located four people who were “obviously deceased,” according to a news release from TPD.

The four people, two adult men, an adult woman and a juvenile male, had gunshot wounds. Police believe one of the adult men, a 33-year-old, shot and killed the others before dying by suicide.

The victims have not yet been publicly identified. Police said they will be identified following a positive identification by the Adams County Coroner’s Office and a next of kin notification, police said.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Thornton police tip line at 720-977-5069.
