A 14-year-old shot their 16-year-old family member in the leg Sunday night, the Aurora Police Department announced.
The shooting happened at East 12th Avenue and Akron Street, near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Yosemite Street.
Police said the 14-year-old accidentally fired the gun while playing with it.
The 16-year-old victim was taken to a hospital. The victim is currently in stable condition with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
