Ski train to Winter Park expands roundtrips for winter 2024-25
The service will run five days a week this season.
Skiers and riders rejoice for the Winter Park Express, aka ‘ski train’ operated by Amtrak, is returning for the 2024-25 skiing and snowboarding season, and has added 29 more roundtrips too.
The train that travels between Denver Union Station and the base of Winter Park Resort will expand service to five days a week this season, up from just weekends last year.
Starting Jan. 9, the train will run Thursday through Monday through March 31.
The Winter Park Express will also offer a special expanded holiday service Dec. 20-22 and 27-29.
This winter’s service will also stop at the Fraser platform, five miles west of Winter Park.
The train service will carry two additional passenger cars, raising the number of seats available from approximately 268 to 402 on each trip. A total of 69 roundtrips will operate this season.
The train departs Denver at 7 a.m., and arrives at the resort at 9 a.m. The return trip departs Winter Park Resort at 4:30 p.m., and arrives in Denver at 6:40 p.m.
