New pizza shop opens near Denver Tech Center

There’s a new pizza place in town.

Peckish Pizza opened a restaurant this month in Belleview Station, a master-planned development in the Denver Tech Center.

It is the pizza restaurant’s second location since debuting in Boulder, finding success with its pizza dishes and “Best in Boulder” wings. University of Colorado Boulder football Coach Deon Sanders visited the location last year, giving the restaurant an “A” review on its chicken sandwich, Peckish Pizza posted on Instagram.

The restaurant is part of the office park’s project to make the area more mixed-use with more housing and dining options.

“Belleview Station continues to achieve its vision of becoming a place where people want to call home, work from or simply visit for our great dining and leisure options,” said Brooke Bansbach Maloy, vice president of Belleview Station developer Front Range Land & Development Company, in a release.

“We’ve enjoyed steady success and it’s a pleasure to welcome Peckish Pizza to our thriving southeast Denver community,” she said.

Peckish Pizza is open at 4920 South Newport St. from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday to Saturday. It’ll be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

The restaurant has a special on Tuesday nights between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. where the restaurant will cover the bar tab with a coin toss.

New Orleans snoball shop opens in Denver

A Louisiana-inspired dessert business opened Friday in Denver.

Sweet NOLA Snoballs opened at 916 Jersey St. in Denver’s Jersey Street Shopettes selling snoballs, or finely shaved ice with syrup.

Owner Lara Stepneski-Mintz grew up in Denver and worked at Bonnie Brae Ice Cream before moving to New Orleans for 17 years.

“I knew I wanted to bring some of the rich culture and flavor of the city back with me to Denver,” Stepneski-Mintz said in a news release. “Sweet NOLA Snoballs is a taste of New Orleans with a Mile High twist. This is a first of its kind in Denver, and I look forward to introducing this fun, frozen treat to Coloradans.”

The owner added she plans to feature homemade organic fruit and vegetable syrups as well as serve “stuffed” snoballs with ice cream inside or topped with sweetened condensed milk.

Sweet NOLA Snoballs will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays.

Denver photo booth company hires new chief marketing officer

MiHi Entertainment, a rental photo booth business based in Denver celebrating its 10th year anniversary this year, has a new marketing executive.

The company announced Monday it hired Jenny Howard-Maxwell as its new chief marketing officer after MiHi Entertainment collaborated for two years with Occasionally Fabulous Events, the event marketing firm she founded.

“The journey has ignited my passion to push boundaries and explore new horizons in the events industry,” Howard-Maxwell said in a release.

MiHi Entertainment said it’s looking to expand its national footprint with the help of new company talent.

Howard-Maxwell is tasked with unveiling a new suite of “innovate” products the company has been developing. She also will focus on fostering experiential events, managing brand activations and more marketing and event technology management.

“Her proven ability to craft innovative strategies and deliver impactful campaigns makes her an invaluable addition to our leadership team,” said Jeff Libby, MiHi Entertainment’s founder, in a release. “Jenny brings a remarkable depth of marketing expertise and creativity to her new role at MiHi Entertainment.”

“With over two decades of experience,” Libby said, “Jenny’s vision and passion align perfectly with our mission, and I’m confident she will help drive MiHi Entertainment to unprecedented success.”
