Colorado mountain town records low of -27 on Friday morning
It was very cold around Colorado on Friday morning, especially in one northern mountain town.
The National Weather Service in Boulder compiled a list of low temperatures recorded from around the state and a few communities started their day with temps below -20.

Fraser/Tabernash is known as one of the ‘Ice Boxes of Colorado’, with Gunnison and Alamosa.
According to the National Weather Service, Colorado’s lowest recorded temperature was -61 degrees Fahrenheit in Maybell on Feb. 1, 1985.
The record low temperature for today’s date in Denver is -18 degrees Fahrenheit, which was recorded on Nov. 29, 1877.
