The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is opening two free COVID-19 community test sites this weekend in Douglas and Jefferson counties.
Residents of Douglas County and nearby communities can get tested for free at Canvas Credit Union at 10000 Park Meadows Drive starting Saturday. The site will be open daily from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m., with the exceptions of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, according to a media release.
An additional testing site will be opening on Sunday in Golden at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds at 15200 W. 6th Ave. Frontage Road in Golden. The site schedule will vary by day and can be found online at https://covidtest.colorado.gov/map.
Anyone wishing to utilize the testing center in Jefferson County is recommended to preregister here, but walk-ins are welcome.
Results of the tests are expected to be returned within two and three days.
Officials from the state are encouraging all Coloradans who need or want to get tested for the novel coronavirus to do so at many of the community sites across the state.
Anyone who receives a test because of symptoms or possible exposure are recommended to be in quarantine while they wait for test results.
