Colorado State Patrol are searching for a driver of a silver Jeep Wrangler that struck a pedestrian in Jefferson County Friday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a report of an accident near Lookout Mountain Road and Mountsfield Drive in Golden shortly before 4 p.m. 

Witnesses told authorities that the Jeep struck the pedestrian while walking a dog and fled the area. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Jeep fled the scene and reversed into a nearby driveway, where it struck an unoccupied box truck, officials said.

After being struck by the Jeep, the driver of the truck exited the vehicle and witnessed the Jeep begin to rapidly reverse back into the truck, before fleeing towards Lookout Mountain Road and Panorama Drive. 

The victim told authorities that he believed the act was intentional, according to the release. 

Officials say the Jeep has severe damage to the rear of the vehicle, an American flag sticker in the rearview window and possible front end damage.

The driver is described as a white male with facial hair who could be in his 40's, and if anyone has information about the vehicle or driver to contact them immediately at: 303-239-4501.
