Longmont Police have identified a 36-year-old man as a person of interest in an assault and robbery that resulted in the death of a 71-year-old bicyclist earlier this month.
Officials say Edward H. Hoid, 36, became a person of interest as a result of their investigation and police received several tips identifying him, according to a news release.
Hoid is currently wanted for a parole violation and has not been charged in the death of Randall Schubert.
Authorities believe Hoid may have fled the state and are currently working with other law enforcement agencies to track him down.
On Nov. 5, authorities say, Schubert, a Longmont resident, was riding his bicycle on the Greenway south of Lowes and the Recreation Center around 5 p.m. when he was knocked to the ground and robbed.
He later died as a result of the injuries.
Authorities say the public should consider Hoid dangerous and if spotted should contact law officials immediately.
The investigation is ongoing.
