An ambulance responds to the scene of an emergency.

A rollover car crash late Thursday night left five injured in south Denver, the Denver Police Department said.

The crash happened at East Evans Avenue and South Broadway Street. Police reported the crash at 11:17 p.m.

Police said the driver of a Nissan ran a red light while traveling south on Broadway,

The Nissan struck a Dodge Caravan traveling west on Evans Avenue, causing the Nissan to roll.

Five people were taken to a hospital with injuries. Police said the passenger of the Nissan was seriously injured.

The statuses of the victims are unknown. No fatalities have been reported at this time.

Police said the driver of the Nissan is being held for investigation of driving under the influence, careless driving resulting in injury, driving without insurance and failure to stop at a red light.

The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
