The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in investigating an armed robbery of a local convenience store Sunday evening.

Deputies said the robbery occurred at 4:45 p.m. at the Circle K store at 8290 Washington St., near the Regis University Thornton Campus.

The suspect, a man wearing a red bandana over his face, entered the store with a large-frame semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect ran away in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing. Deputies said the Sheriff’s Office has processed the scene and is working to interview witnesses.

Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
