A house under construction in West Colfax caught fire early Monday morning, leading to the destruction of the house and two nearby apartments.
The Denver Fire Department said the fire started just after 3:45 a.m. at 1395 Xavier St., near 14th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
The house was unfinished and was being constructed in recent weeks. After the fire began, it spread to an apartment building next door at 1391 Xavier St., where numerous people live.
The apartment building was severely damaged, including suffering several broken windows and smoke damage.
No one was injured in the fire but two apartments were destroyed, displacing the residents, fire officials said.
It took fire crews approximately 30 minutes to put out the fire. During this time, Xcel Energy cut power to the surrounding neighborhood.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
