Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in Central Park neighborhood

A motorcyclist was killed Monday after crashing with an SUV in the Central Park neighborhood, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the SUV was going on North Central Park Boulevard through the intersection of East 35th Avenue about 2 p.m. when the motorcyclist made a left turn through the intersection onto East 35th Avenue.

The vehicles crashed in the intersection, resulting in the motorcyclist suffering serious injuries. The motorcyclist, identified only as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured and stayed at the scene. No citations have been issued, police said.

The SUV had a green light when it drove through the intersection, police said. The motorcyclist had a green light, but not a green arrow, meaning he should have yielded to the SUV before turning left.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after his family has been notified.
