A pedestrian has died Thursday after being hit by a vehicle in Denver, police said.

The crash happened at West 10th Avenue and Federal Boulevard, according to a social media post on the Denver Police Department’s official X account, shared just after noon on Thursday.

Initially, Denver police said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the collision, but about two hours later, police updated that the pedestrian had died.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and Federal Boulevard was closed in both directions while authorities investigated.

The identity of the pedestrian will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, police said.

Investigators were working to determine what caused the crash, police said.
