Cyclist killed in Denver crash involving vehicle

The crash happened at Colorado Boulevard and E. 10th Avenue

A cyclist is dead Thursday after a crash involving a vehicle in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood.

The incident happened near the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and E. 10th Avenue, according to a post on the Denver Police Department’s X account. The first post was shared just before 3 p.m.

Police said the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told The Denver Gazette’s news partner 9NEWS that the cyclist was in the southbound lanes and took a hard right turn inadvertently into the next lane where he was hit.

The southbound lanes of Colorado Boulevard were closed while police investigated.

Police did not release details on what led to the crash.

The cyclist’s name was not immediately released.
