Section of RTD D Line closing for maintenance
Downtown light rail stations will re-open next week after months of construction closures.
A significant portion of the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) D light rail line will be closed next week for necessary maintenance.
D Line trains will not operate north of Englewood Station — all the way to downtown Denver — starting Tuesday morning and running until Friday morning as maintenance crews replace overhead wires that provide power to the light rail trains, RTD said in a press release.
Final D Line departures on Monday will be at 10:12 p.m. at the Littleton-Mineral Station and 10:57 p.m. at the 18th-Stout Station. The line will then close until Friday morning.
Bus shuttles will replace the D Line service between the Englewood Station and I-25-Broadway stations during the maintenance. Commuters can then use the H Line or bus Route 0 to travel north toward downtown from the I-25-Broadway Station.
Boarding for bus shuttles will take place at the following locations:
- Englewood Station – Gate A
- Evans Station – Gate C
- I-25-Broadway Station – Gate A2
The closure comes on the heels of a bevy of RTD changes in the city as the agency “adjusts its schedule three times a year to address ridership changes, traffic patterns, maintenance activities and customer feedback that affect its bus and rail system,” RTD said in a separate release.
Other service changes
Starting Sunday, multiple RTD bus lines and trains will experience different schedules and service frequencies as the agency alternates its fall schedule.
