Two semi-trucks crash, shut down I-70
Two semi-trucks crashed on Interstate 70 around mile marker 163 at 4:30 a.m. Friday, the Colorado State Patrol said.
One of the trucks was going westbound when it went through the left shoulder barrier near Avon, which is just west of Vail, crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with the other truck, authorities said.
Two people in the eastbound truck were transported to the hospital, authorities said, adding their conditions are unknown. The driver of the westbound truck did not suffer injuries, authorities said.
The State Patrol said investigators suspect fatigue in the crash.
