Spooky season is upon us, and that means it’s time for a classic fall tradition – haunted houses.

Here are some of Colorado’s best haunted houses that are sure to deliver a good scare this Halloween season:

1. The Frightmare Compound

Located in Westminster, this haunted house has been terrifying Colorado residents for 40 years. As well as making their way through the haunted house, guests can attempt to escape an infamous serial killer in the mini escape rooms, check out the monster museum, or “face death head on” with the coffin simulator.

2. HellScream Haunted House

This Colorado Springs haunted house features escape rooms themed around horror, animatronics, and scare actors.

3. The Fear Complex

This haunted house, also located in Colorado Springs, takes visitors on a “relentless, spine-chilling journey” through four themed areas (The Sanitarium, Haunted Mines, Sinister Manor, and 3-D Carnival).

4. Terror in the Corn

Those brave enough will take a walk through the eerie mile-long corn field at Anderson Farms (located in Erie), before reaching the abandoned (fictional) town of Raven’s Gulch. Tickets also include entry to Anderson Farm’s Fall Festival.

5. 13th Floor Haunted House

Denver’s 13th Floor Haunted House will feature three sections this year, including Legend of the 13th Floor, Twilight of the Damned, and the Bloodshed, and they’re all terrifying in their own way.

6. Haunted Field of Screams

Beyond the famously haunted Riverdale Road in Thornton, this 40-acre corn field leads those who date to enter to the Riverdale Gates of Hell. According to the Haunted Field of Screams, Riverdale Road is the most haunted road in Colorado, with stories of hangings, burnings, and road-side accidents. Lost souls and decrepit creatures are said to frequent the 11-mile stretch of road searching for help from passersby.

7. The Ritual Haunted House

Guests will make their way through a murky, cursed swamp at the Ritual Haunted House in Englewood.

8. Aftermath Haunted House

Located in Canon City, this haunted house promises horror and darkness through a tour of the spooky setting, with spine-tingling scares around every turn.
