The haunting of Colorado’s Black Forest

Although Colorado woods are usually a serene escape into nature, there’s one spot that’s reportedly not quite as peaceful. In fact, it’s positively terrifying.

According to Only In Your State, the haunting of the town of Black Forest started in 1991 when Steve and Beth Lee bought a home in the woods. The website reports that soon after moving in, the couple started to experience terrifying occurrences.

The spooky events included unexplainable noises like chains, loud orchestra music, footsteps, foul odors, and flashing lights.

The couple decided to buy a security system due to the unsettling incidents.

After the security system didn’t catch anything, the couple reached out to television show Sightings. According to IMDb, Sightings is a paranormal investigation series that involves extraterrestrial visitors, ghosts, cryptids, and unexplained phenomena.

As crews began investigating, the show’s producers, ghost hunters, and mediums discovered multiple spirits in the house.

Only In Your State also says that both Beth and a crew member of the show were “overtaken” by a spirit during filming. The crew member was shown violently crying on the ground and complaining of numbness and the feeling of something entering her.

Another psychic returned six months later and figured out that one of the spirits was “Howard,” the son of one of the Lee family friends who died years before.
