6 Colorado locations nominated for USA Today’s best destinations for snow award
As the official start to winter nears, many destinations across the U.S. turn into winter wonderlands, with crisp air, snowy scenery, and plenty of exciting activities.
Voting is underway for USA Today’s 10Best destinations for snow, and the nominees include places that “offer lots of winter activities, gorgeous snow globe landscapes, and of course plenty of snow!” With Colorado’s reputation as an iconic winter destination, it’s no surprise that six locations in the Centennial State were nominated.
The Colorado nominees are Aspen, Crested Butte, Frisco, Ouray, Telluride, and Winter Park. With the state’s reputation for outdoor activities, these towns offer no shortage of opportunities for snowy adventures. Whether skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing, or even taking a sleigh ride, residents and visitors of these Colorado locations are sure to get their fill of wintery fun.
USA Today’s 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program highlighting the country’s best destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. An expert panel nominates the top picks, and readers vote to choose the winners.
Readers can vote for their favorite locations once per day until voting closes on Monday, Dec. 1 at noon. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
