Every once in a while, the OutThere Colorado team will receive a report of a Bigfoot sighting. Very rarely do those reports come with photos or video footage to support the claim, thus in most cases, the report is very difficult for our team to cover.
That wasn't the case with a Bigfoot report that landed in my inbox on October 10, when Shannon Parker reached out to share an experience that she and her husband, Stetson, had on the popular Durango to Silverton train ride over the past weekend.
According to Shannon, they were seated near the back of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train when they spotted movement on a mountain hillside.
The two were shocked when they noticed it wasn't your average animal, instead moving about on two feet.
The person beside them grabbed their phone and started recording while Shannon snapped several photos. The video footage that was captured is compelling, clearly showing the Bigfoot creature walking and then squatting down.
People on a train in southwest Colorado may have spotted 'Bigfoot.' Thoughts?

In my conversation with Shannon, she noted that while she and her husband have never been naysayers when it comes to Bigfoot, "seeing was believing." She found it odd that the majority of those on the train passed the scene without noticing the creature – it didn't cause any sort of an uproar and had those in the back seats of the locomotive not seen it, it would have gone unnoticed. When she shared the photos and video footage with train employees, she reports they claimed that they had never seen something like it before, but that they thought it could be a legitimate sighting.
Here's a zoomed in version of the photo that Shannon shared, giving a better look at the face of the creature as it's squatted down. Note that the video footage also captured gives a clearer look of the large creature's movement, showing it walking, as well.

While Bigfoot sightings aren't super common in Colorado, they're far from unheard of. After all, there's even a destination dedicated to the creature – The Sasquatch Outpost, located in Bailey. Plus, more than 100 reports of Centennial State Bigfoot sightings have been documented in recent years.
What's your take? Think someone hiked a Bigfoot suit all the way into a remote part of the state on the off-chance that they'd be spotted by a passing train? Or do you think these photos might capture an actual Sasquatch?

I think the bigfoot is wearing Benders.
Must be a Coach Prime fan!
I own the Sasquatch Outpost in Bailey (reference in the above article). Thought I would add my thoughts to the other comments. First impression: this is a hoax. Why would I say that? First, it just happens to be walking in plain view as the train passes. very convenient. Second, It doesn't attempt to hide, but rather sits down in plain view for all to see. Almost like it's putting on a show for the train. Third, the color is unlike any sasquatch I've heard of, but very similar to suits I've seen. Last, in the still photo, I would swear it looks like it's wearing sunglasses. I hope I'm proven wrong... as i would love for this to be genuine. I guess we'll see!.
Great marketing for the train!
I watched the Video again today. I swear it looks as if he sits down and starts to lick his paw and clean his/her face. Or trying to cover face so won’t be seen. Walks kind of like a ape and those arms way to long for human. I really think it’s a wild zoo ape escaped or someone orangutan escaped. Or a very good costume. Great actor if costume. No. If was a wild animal I really believe it would sit/lay and be very very still. You know. Like the movie. Harry and the Henderson. Where at the end all the Bigfoot's come out of hiding right in front of ur eyes. Was so still and blended in with the surroundings that u didn’t/couldn’t see them. Great movie by the way. A little bit of kid in all of us. Honestly. A wonderful video for this time of year.
I've always heard that Bigfoot was elusive. Maybe this is his southern cousin that doesn't mind being out in the open. Ha! Ha! Actually someone dressed like Bigfoot is having a good laugh over this. So those on the train got some entertainment as well as being spoofed.
Also. Look how long the arms are. Almost to long for human. Maybe loose zoo ape orangutang. Could be! Closest kin to big foot. I just love Halloween. All the strange stuff comes out.
That’s as close to a bigfoot I have ever seen. And I’ve never seen one except in movies. Whoooo knows. Maybe! Maybe not! Would be real cool if it was. Looked almost the color of the weeds and plants growing around it. Course their are people who have a disease called Hypertrichosis. Just wasn’t tall enough to be a big foot. Course who knows just how tall Bigfoot is? Lol. Maybe Halloween costume. Face looked almost ape. Ooooooo ghost goblins and witches. And of course Bigfoot. Lol. Happy Halloween everyone. Peggy from Texas.
Where was the train at that point? Do we know? Could also be a Wookie??
Nice shades, wonder where he got those? Fur looks too clean to not be a costume put on for the occasion:)
Somebody's already gotten into the psilocybin mushrooms!
Testing out their new Halloween costume
Jeremiah Johnson still roaming the Rockies!
facial features look human. Me hinks a halloween costume.
Man In a Bigfoot. Suit who knew the train was coming by at that time
