Colorado earns two spots on USA Today’s list of best hotels for the holidays

During the holiday season, hotels adorn their lobbies and halls with beautiful decorations to make for a festive stay. According to USA Today, two Colorado hotels are among the best when it comes to festive decor and experiences during the holiday season.

Nominated by an expert panel, selected by editors, and then voted on by readers, USA Today’s 10Best is an award program that highlights the best in things such as destinations, food, hotels, activities, and more. USA Today recently released its list of the best hotels for the holidays, and two Colorado hotels made the list.

The Broadmoor, set at an elevation of 6,230 feet in Colorado Springs, ranked in fourth place. The hotel is transformed into a winter wonderland during the holiday season, including an impressive display of decorations and activities.

As well as its annual gingerbread display, a Lightning Bug Boat this year, festivities at the hotel include the classic Broadmoor Holiday Show, New Year’s Eve Gala, and New Year’s Eve Bash. The hotel also hosts a Christmas Day Brunch and daily events between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1.

C Lazy U Ranch, in Granby, made the list in ninth place. The ranch offers Christmas family vacations, complete with cabins, tabletop Christmas trees, caroling, ice skating, sleigh riding, and snowmobile rides. Santa also visits on a horse-drawn sleigh filled with presents, and guests are treated to a traditional Christmas Eve turkey dinner to end the holiday experience.

The Roosevelt New Orleans in Louisiana placed first, with a lobby decorated with more than 100,000 lights, over 1,000 feet of garland, and thousands of ornaments.
