Popular brewery known for ‘Sticky Paws’ honey wheat announces closure in Colorado

A highly-rated brewery in Colorado Springs has announced that it will be shutting down, sure to surprise long-time fans of the establishment.

The update about the closure was released by FH Beerworks on Tuesday afternoon, detailing that December 21 will be their last day of service at both their brewpub and the adjacent NEAT Whiskey House.

“This decision was not made lightly, but due to the state of the industry, and for the health and wellbeing of our family, it is time to close this chapter,” reads the post.

FH Beerworks got its start in downtown Colorado Springs more than 10 years ago as Fieldhouse Brewing Company, later re-branding to the acronym. The company later moved operations to the eastside suburbs, opening up a larger location and eventually adding a cocktail bar to the property. The announcement of the closure came just four days after NEAT Whiskey House celebrated its three-year anniversary with a ‘Roaring 20s’ themed party.

With a 4.7-star rating on Google Reviews, FH Beerworks has been perhaps best known for their Sticky Paws Honey Wheat beer over the years, also offering various seasonal varieties of this brew. FH Beerworks products have long been found at liquor stores around the city, with kegs often on tap at many bars and taprooms.

The announcement has been met with an outpour of support from the beer community, many of whom refer to the spot as their favorite Colorado Springs brewery.

As far as the owners go, they’ll continue onward with their work in respective remodeling and real estate businesses.
