REPORT: Colorado ranks among most educated states in US
A good education can lead to more career opportunities, higher earnings, new social connections, and much more.
WalletHub recently conducted a study to determine the most educated states in the U.S., and Colorado made the top five.
To create the rankings, WalletHub compared all 50 states across metrics of a well-educated population, including educational attainment, school quality, and achievement gaps between genders and races.
Colorado ranked as the fourth-most educated state. The Centennial State ranked second for educational attainment and 33rd for quality of education. The data also shows that Colorado has the highest percentage of associate’s degree holders or college-experienced adults and the second-highest percentage of bachelor’s degree holders.
According to the Colorado Department of Higher Education, 62.9% of the state’s population aged 25-64 have some form of postsecondary credential, including everything from certifications and certificates to graduate and professional degrees.
Massachusetts ranked as the most educated state, coming in first for both educational attainment and quality of education.
