REPORT: Colorado ranks last nationwide in ‘personal and residential safety’
The results of a recent data analysis conducted by WalletHub are sure to shock some Coloradans, with the Centennial State being ranked last in the country in terms of ‘personal and residential safety.’ This category of data included 20 different metrics, mostly related to crimes and drug abuse stats on a per capita basis, while also including things like suicide rate, bullying incidents, and number of local hate groups.
‘Personal and residential safety’ wasn’t the only type of safety concerns that were considered in the WalletHub analysis, with other categories of metrics including ‘financial safety,’ ‘road safety,’ ‘workplace safety,’ and ’emergency preparedness.’
While Colorado ranked the lowest when it came to personal and residential safety, the state also ranked poorly in terms of workplace safety – 45th.
The state ranked the best when it came to financial safety – 14th nationwide. Colorado was middle-of-the-road in terms of road safety and emergency preparedness, ranking 30th and 28th, respectively.
With all 52 data points across all five categories considered, Colorado ranked as the 43rd safest state in the country overall.
