World Atlas recently released their list of the top ‘Rocky Mountain spots’ for retirees and two locations in Colorado made the cut to be included. Granted, locals probably aren’t too surprised about that – with many of the state’s mountain communities offering a laidback lifestyle amid a stunning backdrop, Colorado is undoubtedly a great place to spend the later days of life.

The first town to be mentioned by World Atlas was Estes Park. Home to the eastern gateway into Rocky Mountain National Park, this part of Colorado offers all of the hiking, bird watching, and relaxation in nature that one could want. It’s also home to good healthcare and even has options for golfing. Plus, getting to larger Front Range cities isn’t that difficult as long as roads aren’t too snowy.

The second Colorado town mentioned by World Atlas was Steamboat Springs. Located in northwest Colorado, Steamboat Springs is home to plenty of skiing and fishing. Plus, it’s a little more developed than a lot of other mountain communities around the state, meaning more convenience when it comes to finding various amenities.
