Zombie flick being filmed in small town Colorado – and extras are needed

There’s a zombie horror-comedy that’s being filmed in Colorado – and you might have a chance to be a part of it.

Residents of Erie may have noticed that their town has been filled with… eerie… vibes over recent days and weeks, and it’s thanks to the filming of a movie called Eerie Town in the local area.

According to a GoFundMe related to the production of the film that’s already raised more than $9,000, Eerie Town follows the story of main character Jessie Bridges and his return home “from big city life” as he seeks to rekindle the flames with a lost love. Unfortunately, shortly after he arrives, a vampire hunt goes wrong, leaving him and his friends to survive a hoard of zombies… “and maybe get a first date out of it.”

The filmmaker behind the movie is Michael Freeman, who dove headfirst into movie-making after his life was turned upside-down by the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid that chaos, Freeman made the call to make his “dreams of making this film a reality.”

The filming process has relied on plenty of support from locals, too, with extras playing a key role in making the production possible. Extras were needed as recently as Monday, with more opportunities coming up soon.

The Facebook page for the project notes that a big zombie scene will be filmed on Saturday, October 26, and while details about participating in that scene haven’t been released yet, the Facebook page does say “more info on that to come, we need a street full of zombies.”

The most up-to-date information about the production of the movie can be found on the movie’s Facebook page. The email address [email protected] might also be worth shooting a ping, as this has been listed online as a means of connecting the production with potential participants in the movie.

The GoFundMe account that’s currently collecting donations will assist with providing the production with items that can’t be donated – production insurance, makeup, props, food, special effects, and more. The fundraiser goal is set at $20,000.
