Arapahoe County Issue 1A | 2024 VOTER GUIDE

Arapahoe County asks voters to retain and spend $74 million in excess tax revenue

Issue 1A asks Arapahoe County voters to retain and spend taxes collected above the limits imposed by the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights.

Arapahoe County is one of a few counties that still operate under the TABOR limits. Officials said the money would go toward, roads and pedestrian safety, emergency response, housing, mental health resources and other programs.

County officials said they placed the measure on the ballot after years of insufficient tax revenue and increased demand for services.

The proposal technically does not raise taxes. If approved, it will allow the county to retain roughly $74 million more in some years.
