Broncos LB Dre Greenlaw expected to miss ‘a little bit of time’ in offseason drills with strained quad but be ready for training camp

Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw is expected to miss “a little bit of time” during offseason drills after suffering a strained quadriceps muscle while working out, a source said Sunday.

The source said a report by NBC Sports Bay Area was “way off base” that Greenlaw suffered a torn quad and would miss a “substantial portion of the 2025 season.”

The Broncos began offseason drills last Monday. The source said no surgery is planned for Greenlaw, it is “rehab only” for his injury. And that he is expected without question to be ready for the start of training camp in late July.

Greenlaw was signed last month as a free agent after playing his first six seasons with San Francisco. He suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the Super Bowl in February 2024 and didn’t return until last December, when he got into two games. He then missed the final two games of the 49ers’ season with a calf injury.

The Broncos did not select a linebacker in the three-day NFL draft, which concluded Saturday. They have agreed to sign two undrafted linebackers in J.B. Brown from Kansas and Karene Reid from Utah.
