Colorado Mesa’s Miller Jones set to compete in USATF U20 Championships | Colorado Sunshine

Where good news shines

Colorado Mesa’s Miller Jones could be going international.

Jones, a Grand Junction native, will represent the Mavericks at the USATF U20 Championships in Eugene, Ore., Thursday. He’s attempting to qualify in the triple jump for the World Athletics U20 championships.

Jones was the RMAC Freshman of the Year in the indoor and outdoor seasons at Colorado Mesa and set a school record with a mark of 15.84 meters at the conference championships. He’s seeded third in the USATF meet.

The top two finishers will qualify to represent the United States at the World Athletics meet in Lima, Peru, in late August.
