Former CU Buffs football player Keith Miller III found dead in Texas
Former Colorado football player Keith Miller III, 23, was found dead in a Texas apartment Thursday, reports said.
No cause of death has been announced.
Miller played for the Buffs during the 2020 and 2021 seasons before continuing his career at Texas A&M-Commerce, where he was a captain during the 2023 season. Miller, a wide receiver, was considered one of the top recruits in the state of Texas coming out of The Colony.
“The University of Colorado is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Keith Miller III,” CU said in a statement. “Keith was a member of our football program for two seasons in 2020-21 and in every way imaginable was an outstanding young man in addition to being a beloved father, son, and brother.
“He will always be a part of the Buffs family and was taken from us way too soon. His family, teammates from both CU and Texas A&M-Commerce, and all those who knew him are in our thoughts.”
Local reports said the cause of death is under investigation by local authorities.
Former CU wide receiver Brendan Rice shared photos of Rice and Miller on social media with the message, “Forever with you Brotha. Rest in power Keith Issac Miller III.”
