Denver weather: The heat turns back up Labor Day Monday
Summer’s unofficial ‘last day’ is here and the heat will be turned back on this Labor Day Monday around the Mile High City.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies with a high near 90, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light and variable. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
“Critical fire weather conditions are likely across the eastern portions of eastern Adams and Arapahoe counties, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect this afternoon and evening,” the NWS said. “Warm, dry and breezy conditions are expected today with a few showers and an isolated storm across the mountains.”
It’ll be mostly clear tonight with a low around 60. South winds to blow between 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Rain showers are in the mix Wednesday with slight cooling. Thursday is forecast to be the coolest day of the week, with highs nearing 80.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Wednesday: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84.
