Brie Larson takes a break from superhero duties to visit Casa Bonita in Colorado

Celebrities like Ed Sheeran and Tony Hawk have also visited the iconic Denver restaurant.

Move over, red carpet—enter bright pink facades, cliff divers, and sopapillas. One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s A-listers just gave us a glimpse at their latest adventure.

Oscar winner Brie Larson took to social media on Monday, sharing that she was among the lucky few to snag a coveted reservation at Casa Bonita after the restaurant’s public reservation process opened to a frenzy back in September.

“Root beer… on tap?!! 🤯,” Larson posted on social media platform X, along with a photo of her sitting at the restaurant’s nostalgic “Root Beer Bar,” adjacent to “Lucky’s Dry Goods” where arcade goers can exchange their tickets for prizes.

Casa Bonita’s root beer bar has three root beers on tap, all from local distributors including Zuberfizz Root Beer from Durango, Rocky Mountain Root Beer from Denver, and Tommyknocker from Idaho Springs.

Larson, best known for her role as “Captain Marvel” in the MCU, has garnered critical acclaim throughout her career. In addition to her comic book role, she received widespread praise for her portrayal of Joy “Ma” Newsome in the 2015 drama Room, a role that earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Known for her versatility in balancing blockbuster roles with independent projects, she’s also appeared in projects including Kong: Skull Island, Avengers: Endgame, and Fast X.

Larson’s visit just marks one of many celebrity sightings at the nostalgic Denver restaurant in recent years. Last year, singer Ed Sheeran enjoyed the full Casa Bonita experience, stopping by the night before his record-breaking concert at Empower Field, where he marveled at the cliff divers and immersive atmosphere.

Additionally, “The Cure” frontman Robert Smith was another high-profile visitor, praising Casa Bonita’s unique entertainment during his stop there in 2023 while on tour.

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk was also spotted at the Denver Mexican restaurant earlier this year, taking time to pose for photos with fans back in May.

Casa Bonita owners Matt Stone and Trey Parker are celebrities in their own right, known for “South Park”, “The Book of Mormon” and “Team America: World Police,” among other comedy projects. The pair spent a reported $40 million in updating and renovating the iconic Lakewood restaurant before re-opening it last year.

The renovation and re-opening process of the restaurant was recently chronicled in the documentary, “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” currently available to stream on Paramount Plus.
